WWP Every bride uses bridal magazines and web sites to get ideas for their own wedding day.  You can find great ideas for hairstyles, floral bouquets, bridal gowns and tuxedo styles, reception decor, you name it. But have you ever thought of using this resource as a guide to learn how to pose for your portraits? Look a little closer next time at how the model is holding her hands, how she stands or sits. Get in front of your mirror and try to mimic these poses. This may feel a little silly posing for yourself in the mirror, but hey, no one is going to see you. Also, watch the stars walking on the red carpet or models on the runway. Pay attention to how she walks, how she stops and props a hand on a hip. All she is doing is allowing the photographer a moment to snap a shot and then she moves on.
We certainly provide guidance to our brides and grooms in posing for a great portrait, but if you’ve practiced and it becomes natural, it will of course look more natural. – Happy Wedding Planning, Julie
