Congratulations to Susanna and Justin

We would like to congratulate Susanna Dover and Justin Martin. We submitted this portrait of them into a photography competition held by Southern Wedding Style Magazine and it won first prize. This photo was taken at Alcyone Plantation during their rehearsal dinner Friday night. You can read more on the Wedding Style Magazine’s Blog.

When we heard about the competition we knew this couple would be perfect for the shot. The magazine was looking for a southern bride or wedding related setting with the magazine incorporated into the shot. Susanna and Justin’s rehearsal dinner had a Kentucky Derby theme – oh so southern!  Thanks you guys for being such great models!

Robert O. — It was nice that you didn't have them cross their feet the same------or had you noticed ? Great shot, great seller but what Photographer thinks about money ?   ( May 7, 2008 @ 10:09 pm )

Jeff Gandy — I didn't really notice their feet, but you are right. Looks better this way. Actually, we did not have to give them much direction. They just fell into this pose naturally and we shot away. Thanks for your comments. Keep them coming!   ( May 8, 2008 @ 5:40 am )

MARIE NEWBERN — THIS ONE IS A REAL CLASSIC WITH A TWIST (HIS PANTS). I CAN SEE WHY YOU WOULD SELECT THIS PICTURE, SOOOO SOUTHERN . MOM   ( May 8, 2008 @ 7:32 am )

Jamie Bird-Alcyone Plantation — Congratulations on the winning photograph! But we are not surprised one bit! You all are wonderful photographers and a pleasure to work with! We enjoyed this past weekend and look forward to many more! This was the perfect picture of Susanna and Justin........how much more southern can you get? Everything from the mint juleps, Derby weekend, to the amazing display of roses............the details were over the top! I especially love the photo taken in the swing. It was my grandfather's. Nothing better than sippin' a mint julep and swingin' with the one you love. It doesn't get any better than that! Except having you both there to capture the moment! Way to go Jeff and Julie!   ( May 8, 2008 @ 10:18 am )

Lindsi — Nice work guys! I love the theme!   ( May 8, 2008 @ 9:31 pm )

Sabrina Lindsey — Hey Jeff and Julie. I am so happy for you! You two certainly know how to capture the perfect moment. Congratulations on your award. My para's daughter has taken her children to you before to have their pictures made. We often talk about you, the quality of work you do, and the passion you have for photography. Keep up the good work! Love and miss you, Sabrina   ( May 14, 2008 @ 2:54 pm )
